Have you ever wondered who you were going to be when you grew up?
Do you know yet?
How often as a child did you say, when I grow up I'm going to be....because....
What was it, about that question that brought you joy?
Was it the idea that you would help others, feel good inside, have fun or save the world?
In a way we can continue to ask ourself that same question. What am I going to be doing next? Why do I want to do that?
This simple reflection can help you listen and appreciate your need to expand your desires. Nothing ever stays the same, change is constant. So are you changing or trying to control staying the same so that you know what to expect?
Are you playing small so that you don't have to step into what's uncomfortable to really have, what you really want?
It's the idea that we are safer if we just hold on to controlling each step of the way so that life can be predictable and easier. Is that really easier? Are you actually happier that way? Perhaps.
There is a brilliance in letting go and smelling the roses. There is a ease in allowing yourself to be wrong and make mistakes. You can always pull your socks up and put on a difference pair of shoes. Just like a new choice can be made each time we need to shift a feeling, experience or mood. There is a gentleness in getting quiet and asking yourself, what do I want to be doing? It's in the doing where all the fears, thoughts and doubts arise. So let them. Let it all go and just ride the wave of who or what you want to be doing.
There is no SURE way that will be predictable and all layed out for you. Life is here for you to play the game, walk the path and enjoy it along the way. A destination or goal is just that. The getting there is the real fun, where big or small miracles can happen. If you pay attention to the road, you may see a pot hole before you hit it. If you stop and look around you, there may be a rare flower you can stop to smell and discover you've never seen before. If you take a break once and a while, look back at how far you have come, you may be grateful for all you have put in so far, giving some well deserves praise to yourself. If you stop to look at your map or ask for directions, you may find a path that wasn't so clear until you took time to check in.
There are so many gifts awaiting you, it's up to you to keep asking yourself:
What do I want?
Then have the courage to let go and get living. One of my favourite authors of all time is Paulo Coelho "Seek to Live". With heart, vision and truth there's nothing that can go wrong. Trust your path, trust yourself and all that comes your way. Each experience is showing you a different piece of yourself, bringing you to more know of what you really want.
With so much LOVE!
